Commercial Single Stations

Single strength stations are a very common machine in a commercial facility. One example of a single station you might see in a commercial gym is a bicep curl machine. Typically a facility will have a wide variety of single stations for clients to choose from ranging from upper body to lower body exercises.

What Type Of Clients Will Use Single Stations?

Truly all types of users will benefit from a variety of single stations in your facility. Single stations, especially those that are connected to a weight stack are very user friendly and easy to learn. In addition, single stations will have fixed movements for the most part. So for example, doing leg press on a single station machine may be safer than performing a weighted squat. A chest press single station will have the arms in a fixed position and doesn't allow you to go too far behind your back, which can help avoid injuries one may incur by doing chest press with dumbbells. This is a great safety feature for those that are new to working out and need extra support, but these machines will be used by the fitness pros as well.

Commercial Grade Single Stations

As with any piece of fitness equipment for a commercial facility, you'll want to make sure you're getting high quality, durable commercial grade equipment. Commercial fitness equipment will ensure that these machines will continue to work for years to come in a high use facility. Our team of commercial account managers are here to help guide clients to the fitness equipment that best suits their facility. They will ask questions about the amount of users, demographic of users, budget and space in order to choose the best commercial exercise equipment. We recommend considering Matrix Fitness for your commercial fitness equipment, for their wide variety of excellent equipment.

Weight Stack vs. Plate Loaded

Most commercial single stations will be connected to a weight stack, however plate loaded single stations can be a great cost saving option.

Plate loaded machines are typically more popular in University gyms, which is why Matrix Fitness has a series of equipment called the Varsity Series that consists of plate loaded machines. It offers the dynamic performance and superior ergonomics that the fitness world has come to expect from Matrix, plus the uncompromising durability you need to accommodate a steady stream of users.

Single stations with weight stacks are much easier for clients to use, because all you need to do is adjust the pin into a different weight increment and you're ready to exercise. Single stations with a weight stack will typically cost more than single stations that are plate loaded, but are well worth it for the convenience and added safety of your members.

How To Choose Single Stations For Your Facility

Choosing The Series

Matrix has five main series to fit your facility's needs: Ultra, Aura, Versa, Magnum, Varsity. Each series has different benefits. This step especially is very important to consult with your Commercial Account Manager on, because they'll know which product line up is suitable for the amount of use your facility will see. Some single stations are plate loaded, while others have weight stacks. Some will have extra features, such as a rep counter, while others will be more basic. These are all factors that your Commercial Account Manager can help you navigate through.

Choosing The Lineup

Once you've decided what series you want to go with, now comes the fun part: choosing which specific machines you want in your line up. It's important to make sure there is a good variety of muscle groups included. For the most part, at every gym you'll see the crowd favourites, such as lat pull down, leg press, chest press and so on. But consider some newer machines that will make you stand out as well. One single station machine that has become very popular amongst clients is the Glute Trainer.

Choosing Colours And Customizations

Matrix strength equipment comes in a variety of standard colours for the frame and upholstery, as well as options for custom colours to match your facility's branding. You will also have the option to add your logo to the equipment you choose.

Floor Planning

Floor planning for single stations requires a little bit more thought than how to lay out your treadmills for example. Now that you've decided which stations you'd like and placed an order with the customizations you desire, it's time to start floor planning for your facility. Our Commercial Account Managers are experienced in floor planning and can even provide a custom digital floor plan to help visualize your facility.

Timeline And Installation

It's important to note that timelines vary depending on the product. Adding custom logos, or choosing optional colours will also add on some time. Once the product is close to arriving, we can book a delivery and installation with our experienced team. Save yourself the headache and allow our team of experts to set up your new equipment exactly how you envisioned it. Having your new equipment set up by our professionals will help the fitness equipment last for years to come.
